María Figueredo
Poet | Singer | Uruguayan-Canadian Professor María Figueredo creates spaces where poetry and music meet in two languages and countless emotions. Her bilingual artistry explores themes of identity, nature, memory, and love—blending words and sound into an intimate and evocative experience. Her musical repertoire draws from Latin American folk, Hispanic song, jazz, spoken word, and poetic song traditions, creating performances that are intimate, emotive, and deeply artistic. She has shared her work at festivals, universities, and cultural venues across Canada, Latin America, Europe and the US. Her latest book, Creation Sounds, is a poetic and theoretical contemporary meditation on imagination, sound and cultural memory in Latin America. |
