Dr. Raquel Victoria Benítez Rojas, PhD, MAC, MBA, CMP
Dr. Raquel Victoria Benítez Rojas is an award-winning entertainment executive, academic leader, and researcher with an international career spanning cinematography, broadcasting, animation, digital media, communication, and emerging technologies such as the metaverse and artificial intelligence.
Currently serving as Associate Dean of the Master of Arts in Digital Media and Global Communications at the University of Niagara Falls, Canada, Dr. Benítez Rojas has also held faculty positions at leading institutions worldwide, including Centennial College, Humber College, Louisiana State University, University of Teesside, Universitat de Les Illes Balears, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and U-TAD in Spain, among others. She has been instrumental in developing innovative curricula and academic programs across universities in North America, Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
As CEO and President of Comet Entertainment Inc. for over two decades, she spearheaded global projects in film, television, and digital production, managing international co-productions, creative development, distribution, and business strategy. Her professional work includes a distinguished portfolio of animated series, feature films, and transmedia projects recognized with prestigious awards, including the MIDIA Award for Best Animation Series and the Princes’ Award from the European Environmental Agency.
A prolific researcher and author, Dr. Benítez Rojas has published extensively on media studies, communication, animation history, and artificial intelligence. Her recent works include The Future of Digital Communication: The Metaverse (2024) and Revolutionizing Communication: The Role of Artificial Intelligence (2025), with forthcoming titles on virtual content creation and immersive storytelling. She contributes actively to scholarly journals, serves on editorial boards, and participates in international research networks such as Una Europa and the Animation Research Group ANAIS.
Her global impact extends beyond academia and industry, having advised governments in Spain, Jamaica, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Malaysia on media, communication, and cultural policy.
